After the War - Dyer & Tarver

After arriving in the United States from Europe, Dyer continued to write Elizabeth. He began work as a Pullman porter and would send her letters and post cards from around the Midwest.

Dyer would continue to write Elizabeth for a few years while he was traveling. He often wrote about wishing to see her again and would offer his greetings to her family.

The last time Dyer and Elizabeth would meet would be during the Fall of 1921. On July 27th, 1923 Dyer passed away in Detroit, Michigan of Tuberculosis.

While in Waukegan, Elizabeth ran errands for the family and spent many weekends attending Saturday matinees at the Barrison Theater in Waukegan.

During World War II, Elizabeth opened a night club on S. Genesee Street called Club Afric.

Elizabeth would pass away on July 27, 1995 at the age of 94.
