About

These letters were written by Homer Dahringer to Ruth Besley, and by Westley Dyer to Elizabeth Tarver. When transcribing we have tried to keep all original spelling and punctuation as they appear in the letters. When we have not been able to determine a word, we have either placed a question mark in parentheses in the sentence or have typed the word to the best of our ability. Thanks go out to the countless volunteers who spent the time transcribing the letters. You will notice that some of the letters are lacking descriptions. These will be added in the near future. The originals of these letters can be found in the archives of the Waukegan Historical Society. Exhibit co-curated by Ty Rohrer - Museum Supervisor, and Bryan Escobar - Arts and History Specialist.
