Miss Elizabeth Tarver:
Dearest Girlie:-
It affords me a great that I drop you these few lines. I being unaware of the fact that I was going to be in camp until now haveing told you I would write you as soon as I reached my destination. Now donot be angry when I tell you that we are not to leave until wed., or thurs of this week. "Now lovie" I want to hear from ou once more before I depart, or else you call me up as I have misplaced your phone number. Did you get my message I sent and comp's picture "dear"? You may rest assured that I am going to send you one of mine before I leave, I am going to send you one of my picture when that I was in civil life. Do you think you will like it girlie? and I want you to send me one of yours what ever you do. It is very warm out here, and I can scarcely get my breath. I guess you can read this as I am writeing in such a hurry "Dearie" I am so very sorry that I wont get to see you before I leave. If I only knew that I was going to be all of this time I would certainly gave you a visit but one never can tell just what is next in the army. Well girlie I will not write much as I want to hear from you so very bad. Asking you to rec., these present greetings. Belive me
I am.
Sincerely yours
