Miss Elizabeth Tarver :-
My own and only;
Your sweet and most sincere message was rec. sun; It was quite a shock to me to rec. such an early ans; but I realize it was your most sincere thoughts you had to me that caused you to write to very punctious. I know you wonder why that I am answering so early. Well I will tell you I was on Guard saturday night and your vision semmeded to haunt me so very much that caused my very consious to burn, leaving me in such a melancoly state, I knew nothing else to do but to write you, because it seems to be the only remedy to console my humiliated memory. And sunday morning I rec. your message reading it over about five-times which cheered me up a bit. And as my eyes would glance about the camp, seeing so many lover's about the camp, bidding their friends adieu caused me think and wish for my "little Beth," which was so many miles away in distance, but so near in mind and "heart." I know you will think I am a pest, more than a corresponder, But the very thought, of me going further away from a "little girl" that "my peirceing heart adores" is more than I can stand. I know you will forgive me for bothering you so much "Wont you dear"? I rec; a letter from your Sister, and I also answered it, but I throught I wouldn't be during youa justice unless I wrote "you dear." I really wanted to call you up "girlie" before I left that I might hear your "sweet and cunning voice" again, but as it is storming here now I am a little shy of the lightning, ha, ha, it seems quite funny that a fellow who donot fear bullets, and is afraid of lightning? Well I am just the same. "Lovie," you ask me about the Taylor girl being down yes she and both of the martin girls was down. Raymond Barnette is about to throw a fit because he is going away from his little Madline. She cling to him the last minute on her visit out here. But to think what a fine couple they are one cannot blame them. I think of the many things that helps a man to sucess is that he has someone who really cares and truly cares. Where ever there is happiness, peace and sucess shall prevail. That is why it is necessary for a fellow goes out in life's field to battle is to have some one who confides in him and his sucess is assured. It really places vim and vigor in the organs of my system to have a little heart that I donot believe would decive me. With such confidence and courage, I can face the worse, without fear. Because I am one that always tries to complete my job when I under take it. Although I really feel that I haven't compleated my course with you, savvy? "Now little girlie" I am agoing to send you one of the pictures of our company and will send you one of mine, later, as I had some made and haven't received them as yet. You will trust me wont you dear? Elizabeth will you be true? please for the sake of a sincere friend. As I think of it "dear" do not ever apologize for your hand writeing for it please me and I clearly understands everything you write and if I am pleased others should be tickled to death. "Now dearie" let us hope that we will see each other again before I depart for that long lonesome field of France. Give my best regards to your Sister Miss Gussie and your beloved Mother. I now will bring this tiresome message to a close, as too much may not be appealing to you. "Now girlie" be sweet, be true above all things be careful. With a bushel of love and a barrell of kisses,
I am
most
Sincerely
Yours
